TESTING

All testing for spring buffers is carried out in-house at MESCO using ASTM-calibrated equipment.
Each spring buffer is individually load-tested and certified to ensure compliance with IS 17900, including return to original height after compression under car weight.
Elastomeric buffers (non-linear) typically require complex validation using specialised equipment at third-party accredited facilities – adding cost and lead time

IS 17900

From 22nd December, 2025 the Indian elevator industry is adopting a new standard.

The new IS 17900 standard brings a unified, performance-based approach to elevator design, safety, and installation.

Aligned with global standards (EN 81-20/50), it reflects the growing expectations around safety and consistency in the Indian real estate sector.
